Opening was a lot of fun. It was a great pleasure to share space with Melissa Sharkey, who makes beautiful beach baby jewels.
It was very nice to meet your family, Melissa, and happy anniversary!
Thanks to everybody who stopped by, Claudia and Sylecia, in particular. I am very glad that few dear to my heart pictures found new home.
Very special thank you to Ivy, who liked my book, commissioned a piglet and expressed interest in dealing with PR for me when she grows up. She thinks that refrigerator magnet was a wise self-promotional move.
Thank you for introducing me to Sponge Bob and feeding me with strawberries and chocolate. And taking this opportunity, this is just to let you know that Scooby-Doo is such a fine cartoon:)

When piglet was young and beautiful, climbing the tree always meant a good start of the day. There were two trees growing in front of her house, so she would usually start with climbing one of the trees, and seat there for a while afterwards, observing the street with people passing by only a few feet away from her, not knowing about piglet being so close to them. She was an invisible piglet. After she took a look at the beautiful surroundings from one tree piglet was climbing another one in order to check the view from a different perspective.
Once piglet grew older, not wiser, she adopted the Flower, which she put on the sunniest spot in her apartment.
The main purpose of the Flower is to be beautiful and to serve as a Talisman. Disciplined Piglet would climb every morning and water the Flower, trying to have a polite conversation.
But the Flower would make no reply, holding to the very same thought he always has – how gloriously beautiful he is – and starring at the sun through designer sunglasses. So piglet would go on facebook or something.

After The tale of the Three Little Piglets and the Big Bad Wolf
The literary Rule of three and the political correct version of the story:
At a certain season of any piglet life he considers every spot as the possible site of a house.
He dreams about simple, self-sufficient way of living in the woods.
Substantial Design was consciously applied to a house of straw or to a house of sticks; however, this integrated concept didn’t survive drastic weather conditions, causing designers to improve the style of cottage architecture, upgrading it to water/wind proof materials.

The story evolves around independently wealthy piglet who builds the house of bricks, which is adequate to withstand the destructive forces of nature, represented by wolf.
In fact, there was one and only piglet and 3 different houses, as shown at the illustration.

Studies after fashion illustrations from the early 1900's.

Two folders of La Belle Époque costumes from local library have resulted in two spreads of drawings.
The elegant designs of those illustrations depicting beautiful women were inspired by birds, flowers, sea motifs...etc. Those images have a profound influence on my reading of the assignment.
I decided to go with the S-Bend Silhouette to create the Flamingo effect. And to make it work by coloring everything in pink. The final is cut and paste composition of flamingos and a fashion victim with elongated neck.

The second concept: similarities between the personality/appearance of owners and their pets.

After finding this fruit in the refrigerator I decided to record it. The watercolor technique used here employs multi-layered painting on dry surface: "акварельный метод от куска" -"of the piece”, another adequate translation would be a mosaic. Method: A light drawing outlines the main elements of the still life. If the basic composition looks satisfactory, it should be further articulated with detailed and descriptive drawing. The recommended line work should be light and precise, using an eraser only as a last option, since it would affect the textured watercolor paper. Next stage - tone and color, space, shapes of objects and drapery. The painting goes from the middle in a circular motion to the edges. The shape of the objects is modeled by facet-like brushstrokes. An additional layer of unifying color to soften the edges and calm down some areas was added afterwards.

The Inspiration - a century old photograph showing two soldiers, dressed in the uniform of the Russian Imperial Army.
Description: Some faces and names had vanished without trace as if they never existed, while other will live long in the memories after they have gone.
The concept - The "nonpersons" cut from a series of photomontage images done by Gustav Klutsis: Politburo of the USSR, 1935, Vintage gelatin silver print
When faced with the task of creating a collective portrait, Klutsis chose to apply a photomontage technique to mediate the power relationships between the Politburo members, to show the strict internal hierarchy governed by quasi-military discipline.
